Happy Birthday Linda. I enjoyed reading this. And it was well written indeed. You have shared a considerable amount of your time with my art and poetry, and I do appreciate it. I am glad that I now know more about you. And in truth I see a lot of similarities in how we’ve have lived our lives. And similar conclusions on how to move forward as well. Perhaps that is why I have admired you and your work. Peace and Light my Friend.
Walter, thank you for the very kind words. I follow your work because it amazes me. Your images often look simple, but when I think of the layers of depth and complexity you weave into them, they amaze me. Then you top them off with really lovely poetry. I am also dumbfounded by how prolific you are.
I’m glad you enjoyed reading this. I almost trashed it rather than posting because it seemed boring and self-absorbed to me. That just goes to show that we’re not always the best critics of our own work. Thanks from the heart.
Thanks for the good wishes, Dirtysocks. You know, we all seem to wish we had something more of what someone else has. I guess that’s the human condition. I admire your courage in taking on the role of motherhood. To me that would be a path more frightening than a solo trek through the Sahara desert. Hope the new year brings lots of love, health, and MONEY your way. 😉
Wow, I don’t know what moved me more reading this, the uncondtional openness and honesty or the wealth of feelings. Certainly the linguistic mastery. I, for one, am glad you are here now, in this moment.
Happy birthday, Linda! May there be many more healthy years for you, full of adventures, small and big, and may at least some of your dreams come true while others remain a dream – something to look forward to.
Oh Sandra, you are so kind. As I mentioned to Walter, this post almost didn’t see the light of day. It was supposed to go live after midnight on the 24th. But I guess I messed that up. Then when I got home on the 25th and saw it sitting there in draft mode I almost ditched it. To me it seemed shallow and self-absorbed. I’m eternally grateful that you found it otherwise. Linguistic mastery? May I hire you for publicity?
May the new year be filled with joy and great adventures.
Here’s wishing you a belated Happy Birthday darlin’! Bummer to share it with such a busy holiday season…although there was a period of my life when I hated my birthday and would have seized on anything to help others forget about it. 🙂 I love how you went through the blessings of you life. I’m going to sit and do that, too. It’s quite powerful to read.
Peace Corps? Whoa. You’d have a lot to give at this point.
