The first image on Nandini’s post, Wintery Silences: River Beas, captured my heart and my attention. How could a river on the opposite side of the planet so resemble a river right here in Idaho? She wanted to see this comparison so I had to poke through my files to find this image that I shot last fall of the Salmon River after a wicked fire season.
Don’t they look like twins? The trees near the bridge of the Salmon River are brown because they were burned in the fire.
