My mind is whirring with a lot of unpleasantness. Perhaps yours is, too. There’s a lot of ugliness going on around us, no matter where we live or who we are. By evading words maybe I can sooth some souls.

I am suitably soothed, except for the coyote print! Yikes! Great shots.

I’m glad you’re soothed! Coyotes are no problem. They’re just curious wild dogs. Actually, as a child, my family raised a coyote pup…which was a bad/sad story, but I’ll not go into that right now. The coyote let the family dog’s puppies steal his food. He was like a big uncle. There are also wolves in Idaho. I think I’ve only seen one in the wild. Would love to see another…or even evidence of another. I love being near the wild creatures.

I think Fred R. Barnard got it right in the 1920s when he coined the phrase: A picture is worth a thousand word. These are some great pics. Never be concerned about finding the words. Great pictures will always suffice. A few years ago, I journeyed out to the rural areas around Little Rock and spent the day roaming and taking pictures. I really enjoyed it. You just might be giving me the inspiration to do more of this. Keep it up. I would be curious to see some winter shots.

I’m so glad you enjoyed that post. There will be more in that vein. Right now pictures seem more positive than some of the thoughts crashing around inside my little cranium. And I’m sure it’ll be good and healthy for you too, if you are inspired to go exploring near home. Winter? You ask? Oh boy. I can’t wait. I live for winter and I take way too many snow photos!
Oh and golly, I’m really honored that you reblogged my post. Thank you!

The world needs good thoughts, good images, as much good as we can get to wash away the bad stuff.

Fortunately my state is also beautiful in the fall, so that is some comfort. I have an actual (as opposed to virtual) friend who lives in Boise, so I also get to see some occasional lovely Idaho photos from her on FB

Super photos, Linda. I, too, have been appreciating the beauty and tranquility of nature to help me get thru this pandemic and the darkness currently overpowering our world. Let’s hope next month will bring much more light and love to the world.

Thanks, Doreen. Yes, I hope next month eases some of the misery. But I worry that it is leaking out all over our poor beleaguered planet. There is so much strife, so much anger, and hunger….See? This is why I need to stick to photos for a while. 😦

Oh boy, I do hope so, Janis. I worry though. Even if the election goes the way I would like it to, I fear that scabs have been pulled off and proud flesh is infected and oozing uncontrollably….:-o

Thanks, Dean. It was a great week in McCall. I actually did more hikes than I usually do. And oddly, despite that it is hunting season, I encountered not a single person on any of the trails.

Thank you for the beautiful, pacific scenes, Linda…we are living in an orange tinted twilight here…praying that the snow predicted comes through…

I’ve seen the pics, Ruth. It looks like hellfire and brimstone. Reaction to our political situation? ….partially so, actually. #ClimateChangeIsReal Idaho was very lucky this year. We did not experience the fierce fires that our neighbors to the east and west of us did. Fingers crossed for that snow!

Reminds me of the saying “Living well is the best revenge.” Also, one of my favorite quotes is “Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature. It will never fail you.” – Frank Lloyd Wright. Your McCall photos are beautiful. My friend from Portland visited me a few days ago and we went up to Ketchum and she was enthralled by the golden aspens. McCall looks like it would have been a great place to be, too!
