Doors swing both ways
into the future or out of the past.
Some doors are locked fast.
I recently spent a few weeks in the great American southwest, in Taos and Santa Fe, to be exact. I barely cracked open the door to this fascinating area. Perhaps Jeremy’s Doors from Perception infiltrated my mind. Come have a look.

Linda, I love these. I kept humming the bass line from “Break on through to the other side” by The Doors as I walked through the doors. Maybe we can break through a few more doors. All the best, BTG

Earlier in the day, I heard Ray Manzarek, the keyboardist, describing the meeting with his old school chum, JIm Morrison, on the beach. Morrison, came up with the name “doors” as the doors to enlightment in your mind.

I think I heard that. Wasn’t that in their movie?

You have visited one of my most favourite places. It is tri-cultured with many many spiritual and cultural influences. Such lovely photographs….

Thank you! I think this is the tip of the iceberg! I took SO many photos while there. It’s been a struggle to review them all!

You once told me you don’t do poetry. But, I think that you make a great poet.
As for the collection of photos, I like them – specifically how they’re all so vibrant!

Doors are fascinating. What is behind? Who live there? You captured some really interesting and beautiful doors. Have a really nice day. 🙂

I love these. Taken in the strong light of more southerly latitudes the colours really stand out. The blue gate, door and window frame really glow. Cobalt blue is one of my favourite colours, it has the contradictory effect of being both exciting and soothing at the same time, if you know what I mean.
Doors and windows are fascinating subjects to photo. I’ve done them in Norway, and I’ve done them in Spain. The ones in Norway are great. You might like to look at a few I did on a trip to Norway some years ago.

I like the blue doors too, Charles. But I also like red doors. I dunno, is there a connection between red ties, red light districts and red doors? ;-o

Yes. It was, but Manzarek elaborated more on it.
