I can see what caught your eye, Linda. Your photos are great. I especially love the second one. Did you rent one of those bikes? I’m guessing you have your own. I’m hoping to get out for at least one more ride before I hang up my bike for the season. Have a great weekend!
Thanks, Geralyn. You guessed right, I do have my own bike, which I was riding the day I took these shots. But I love the idea of these bike rental stations, which are fairly new to Boise. I really like seeing them actually in use! Hope you get a nice bike ride in this weekend. 😉
Isn’t it amazing what beautiful visual treats there are – even in the most unexpected places – once we looking. Lovely, little photographic essay, Linda.
They sure did catch your sharp eye. Some outstanding goodies there. Boise never looked so good. Do you enter any of your photos in contests? What kind of camera do
you use?
No contest, Bob. I just do it for my own entertainment and then feel doubly blessed when it turns out that they please someone else. I use a Nikon D5200, which I am slowly learning my way through.
Thanks, Otto. I was pleasantly surprised by how those abstract ones actually turned out. They looked somewhat different in the camera screen. (Or more likely, my eyes couldn’t see them very well in the camera screen. :-o)
Well, Sybil, what can I say? Idaho is a bastion of Mormonism. Zion is their trope. When this building was first built and that sign went up, I was apoplectic, but the sign was the lesser of two evils. In addition to that, was this architectural blight on an otherwise distinguished and elegant building: because it was funded with Mormon (Zion’s) money, they just had to put a Mormonesque topknot on it, which was completely out of scale and looked like a toothpick protruding out of the top layer of a wedding cake! After much hue and cry, the Mormonesque spire was altered slightly to be less “Mormon.” It still looks like an out of place toothpick though. So goes life in a redneck community!

A great series of photos. I really like the more abstract reflections where you play with form and shape more than anything else.
