I’ve been thinking of 2021as another stay-at-home summer. I avoided airports, national parks, and throbbing cities. But as I looked through my photos for my table shots, I realized I’d been out and about more than I thought. I was most surprised by my lack of winter table shots. I do remember standing around in cold parking lots and quaffing a beverage or two apre-ski COVID style last spring.

The ever-present red wine. Good for keeping the arteries clear. Nice pics!

Usually Cab. But if it’s hot, I like a nice Pinot Grigio. (Box version for camping. I hate dealing with glass) 🧐

I can hear Neil Diamond cranking up his song “Red Red Wine,” or if that is too posh, we can fall back on “Crackling Rosie.” Keith

I like the fact you recorded your stops with pictures at the table with healthy food and wine. The National Park did not seem crowded. It looks like you had a good year, despite living with the pandemic.Wish you a great year ahead.

Lovely. I also see an interesting table that certainly wasn’t at each of those sites waiting for you. Please show us a photo of it in backpack mode, if you’d be so kind.

Aha. I’m afraid when I’m in backpack mode, I eat on the ground! The table only comes along on road trips. Sometimes those roadtrips result in a celebratory gig at the trailhead before or after a backpack trip. But I’m not strong enough to lug that extra weight along with the house on my back. 😳

A nifty little table to hold your glass and what a lovely salad. You must be so healthy.

I’m not that healthy. But I try. And a nice salad before a backpack trip during which I’ll be eating meals out of a foil bag, is quite essential. 🧐

I love this post! Man, you eat healthy. I would probably have some chips and salsa, and chocolate, cookies, etc. It doesn’t get much better than this: nature in the Northwest, fresh air, adventure, red wine and solitude.

I rather doubt that you indulge in those empty calories very often. I’m trying hard to avoid the temptation. Thanks to the Farmer’s Market for keeping me so well stocked with great healthy options.

Books, views, and wine I love. Salads are the necessary balance. 😀
